New Study on LDL Levels and Cardiovascular Disease
Here’s a short description of a new paper showing that LDL is not an independent risk marker for heart disease. However, small, dense LDL, which tends to be glycated and oxidized, is highly correlated with heart disease. In the modern diet glycation and oxidation of LDL happens primarily through the consumption of carbohydrates and seed oils.
